Engr. Florante Cruz

Among the most innovative technology solution providers in the Philippines, Engr. Cruz has displayed industry, ingenuity, and exemplary determination in his 20-year career. As the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Subic Telecom, (a joint venture of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and AT&T), he has been involved in the most vital developments in telecommunications.

Now with his own line of companies, he spends his time creating communication solutions for individual consumers and businesses; educating professionals on the use of technology in management; and enabling other companies and organizations such as AHEAD to reach global clientele through cost-effective Internet-based technologies.

Engr. Cruz has been named one of The Outstanding Thomasian Alumni of the University of Santo Tomas and has received several recognitions for business leadership.

Mrs. Lilia Vengco, MA

Ms. Vengco is one of the pioneers of AHEADPro’s Leadership Strategies for School Managers (LESSM) training program. For 7 years, she served as the high school principal of La Salle Green Hills, a top school in the Philippines and later on, as the pioneering principal of La Salle Canlubang.

A sought-after resource person on Basic Education and former staff chair of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU), Ms. Vengco travels back and forth Manila and California for different consultancy work. She has taught English to senior citizens in the U.S.A. and has published science textbooks for Filipino students.

Cornelia Soto, Ph.D.

A much-loved academic consultant, Dr. Soto has conducted faculty development programs to teachers and school heads all over the Philippines.  She has worked with the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities as a Staff Chair.

She presently heads the Education Department of the Ateneo de Manila University and is the president of the Philippine Council of Mathematics Teacher Educators (MATHTED).  Several years back, she served as the Assistant Headmaster for Academic Affairs of the grade school and middle school of the Ateneo.

Dr. Soto has published textbooks for basic education, such as A New Look at Math, Integrated Mathematics I, Integrated Mathematics II, Search 3 (Science), Experiencing Language 3, and Araling Panlipunan as well as journal articles like “For the Classroom—Math” in the Philippine Journal of Education and “Making Math Come Alive” in Life Today.

Her expertise lies in areas such as Research, Teacher Evaluation, Teaching Strategies, Educational Evaluation, Educational Measurement, and the Art of Questioning.

Dr. Soto has read papers at local and international conferences.

Ms. Concepcion Pacia

Ms. Pacia is the Adviser of the Asociación de Alumnas de Poveda. She is also the PEP Consultant/Trainor at the Poveda Center for Educators Formation.
